Dear Mr. Crawford,

We write concerning Charlotte Karp’s article of March 22, 2022, which contains a defamatory falsehood about the Scientology religion.

Andrew Nolch, the “comedian” who committed the repulsive act in 2018 for which he was jailed, was expelled from the Church of Scientology for failing to uphold the ethical standards expected of a Scientologist more than one year prior to the offense. Nolch is not a Scientologist, does not practice Scientology, and has not had any affiliation with the Church of Scientology for half a decade.

Quite in addition to being false, Karp’s inclusion of the Scientology religion in her article is gratuitous, clickbait bigotry. Had Nolch previously been affiliated with a synagogue in Australia, his religion never would have been mentioned in the Daily Mail.

We expect the Daily Mail to immediately correct this article and remove all reference to Scientology. We are as disgusted as you are by this individual’s sick behavior, and will not tolerate it being used as an excuse to smear the Scientology religion or its members.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Bari Berger
