Dear Mr. Feldman:
The anti-Scientology extremism of GSN’s host, Leah Remini, has resulted in hundreds of threats and acts of violence against Scientologists and their children and families—among them calls to murder Church members and burn down Scientology Churches.
We are appalled you continue permitting Leah Remini to hijack GSN’s name to spew antireligious hate, thus implicating your organization in her campaign to incite violence against Scientologists. Leah Remini has repeatedly exploited GSN publicity as a vehicle to discriminate against and harass Scientologists by spreading disinformation about their religion—most recently on September 28 on Daily Blast Live and Today with Hoda & Jenna—in violation of Sony’s professed standards of diversity, equity and inclusion for all.
Scientology is a global religion recognized by the governments of nations worldwide. Its members come from every profession and every walk of life and help their communities daily through Church-sponsored humanitarian programs.
In today’s climate, we are certain your advertisers would not appreciate that GSN has made sponsoring People Puzzler synonymous with paying for antireligious hate.
Unless Sony plans to change its policies to exclude members of minority religions, we expect GSN to immediately inform Leah Remini she is not to use your network’s platform to spread bigotry, very much including her appearance tomorrow on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
