Anywhere the freedom of a person or a people has been lost, at any time, it’s because they were not alert and did not fight back.

All of these things signify an appreciation of what we now have, what we cherish and what we will never surrender or forget: freedom.

I sang it in school. I sang it at home. I sang it in the car while riding with my parents. And I must say, in all honesty that at age 6 I had no clue what it meant.

We talked as he cut my hair and I discovered that he’d only been living in the U.S. for 18 months. I asked what he thought of the U.S. and without any hesitation he said, “This is the greatest country in the world.”
TOLERANCE
In this season of Passover, Jews around the world celebrate freedom from bondage, a never-before-or-since historical occurrence whereby an entire nation departed in a single day from another nation. But a careful reading of the Bible tells us there was more to this than what many suppose.
SCIENTOLOGY RELIGION
Though I grew up Catholic, I’ve been into many churches of different types and one thing I’ve always noticed is the same sense of relief from the world and the safe space a church can provide.
TOLERANCE
I’ll stand up for truth and fairness and equal rights. I’ll stand up for your freedom of thought and expression. I’ll stand up for your right to use your own discretion. Because you’re worth it, and for me to stand up for you—well, to be truthful, that’s standing up for me, too.

Don’t be an accomplice. At the very least, step away. Even better, write a letter. Tell the editor what the freedoms above mean to you.

When I see a platform given to a person whose stock in trade has become slander and libel of religion, I get concerned. I’ll be so bold as to speak for freedom-loving Oregonians (which is most of them).
