STAND Condemns Blind Bigotry on Den of Geek

Like the authors of anti-Semitic propaganda in the 1930s and 40s, Andrew attempts to depict a global religion and its members as some nefarious, scheming force, and plays on long-discredited anti-Scientology tropes.

Dear Mr. Cecchini,

I write regarding Jamie Andrew’s recent article on Den of Geek entitled “The Boys Season 2: What is the Church of the Collective?” and its ignorant, offensive and bigoted references to the Scientology religion.

Much like the authors of anti-Semitic propaganda in the 1930s and 40s, Andrew attempts to depict a global religion and its members as some nefarious, scheming force, and plays on long-discredited anti-Scientology tropes promoted by those who have no qualms with hate speech.

We have reached a crossroads in America today, one at which the majority of our nation has collectively paused to say “enough is enough.” Moving forward, we are holding individuals responsible for propagating discriminatory messaging and thus harming in the name of prejudice and hate.

The truth about Scientology can be found at scientology.org and scientology.tv. There is far too much factual information available on this religion—which is recognized and lauded by leaders for the help it brings not only to its members but to communities and individuals across the globe—for Andrew and Den of Geek to claim they couldn’t find it, and had to instead opt for the biased and uneducated narrative pushed by those irresponsible enough to ignore the truth in the name of clickbait, exploitation and sheer, blind bigotry.

We take this kind of discrimination very seriously and look forward to your prompt reply.
