This week, STAND unveiled a unique resource designed to empower every individual to better understand and protect their own fundamental human rights.
COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Leah Remini posted on Twitter expressing her “support” of the civil rights legend and religious leader, employing the same account she uses to spread daily antireligious hate.
COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
Aaron Yeh, a 24-year-old Scientologist and beloved member of the Church, was murdered outside the Church’s Australasian headquarters on January 3, 2019.
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
The Church of Scientology has to date won every case it has brought before the ECHR to protect the rights of its members to freely practice their religion in the Russian territory.
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
On September 28, 2021, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruled that Vladimir Leonidovich Kuropyatnik, a Moscow Scientologist, was illegally detained by a Russian police officer who questioned him for over one hour on the basis of his membership in the Scientology religion—an act which violated his human rights.
RELIGIOUS LITERACY
Known as a man of courage who embraces, uplifts and unites people of every race and religion, Rev. Murray continues to inspire and set an example for this nation and the world. STAND today joins religious leaders and civil rights champions to thank Rev. Dr. Cecil “Chip” Murray for his decades of dedicated service to humankind.
HATE WATCH
A number of these individuals have reached out to STAND to expose Ortega and provide information on those anonymously enabling him in the name of hate.
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
The bipartisan, three-day summit, with over 1,000 registered to attend, was organized by U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom (2018-2021) Sam Brownback, and Katrina Lantos Swett, chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (2012-2015), president of the Lantos Foundation and daughter of the late U.S. Congressman Tom Lantos, the only Holocaust survivor to serve in Congress.
MEDIA & ETHICS
To date, STAND has documented upwards of 650 instances of hate speech, outright lies and discriminatory content by American Media Inc., now A360 Media.
MEDIA & ETHICS
“This type of behavior is grossly unacceptable at any time, let alone when we daily see the effects of hate speech across our nation. KTLA should be mortified and appalled, and the station should join the ranks of responsible media outlets who condemn such ignorant, destructive rhetoric and apologize to the thousands they have offended.”
