Offensive Content in History of Yesterday

After receiving the below letter, History of Yesterday removed the offending article from all platforms.

Dear Mr. Tapalaga,

We are reaching out regarding Daniel Choi’s article “The Deadliest Cult in History” of March 13, 2022, which we just received an alert on from one of our members.

As your site is devoted to the truth—and as you have built it into what you describe as a respected, quality history publication that seeks to make history more interesting and fun for readers—I imagine you weren’t aware that Choi refers to the Scientology religion using a slur in the first paragraph of his article on the Taiping Rebellion.

As you likely know, Scientology is a global religion, recognized by governments the world over. Choi’s language is derogatory, offensive and discriminatory in the extreme.

I trust I will have your cooperation in getting this matter immediately righted. Needless to say, Choi’s anti-Scientology hate speech does not forward the message of his article, or the purpose of History of Yesterday.
