VH1 in the Hands of the Shameless

Airing this crap is bad enough. Giving it an award is worse and airing the award presentation shows me why your show slogged at the bottom of the TV ratings list—number 148 out of 150.

Dear Sir,

You actually aired Leah Remini receiving an award during the Broadcast Television Journalists Association for her religious hit pieces? “Impact” is right. It showed how disreputable and venial media has become, right in the same bag as “Maury” where a single mother and her sex partners argue and fight and then a paternity test reveals who the real father is.

Remini has targeted Scientologists, Muslims and Jehovah’s Witnesses, and had it continued, who knows? Maybe Jews would be next. It’s not the target that is the critical point here, but the intent, which is to slime religious groups, spread lies and animosity and pass off that agenda as entertainment. Airing this crap is bad enough. Giving it an award is worse and airing the award presentation shows me why your show slogged at the bottom of the TV ratings list—number 148 out of 150.

Sincerely,
