ABC 20/20: Exploiting bigotry to make a buck

It is inexcusable for your organization to forward such hatred and bigotry.

Dear Mr. Goldston,

As we leave some of the holiest days of various religions on this planet, I am appalled to discover ABC 20/20 exploiting religious hatred and bigotry in order to make a buck.

Apparently ABC intends to defame my religion, the Church of Scientology, by implying that kids raised in the Scientology religion are subjected to sexual innuendo and worse, and that our religious practices expose children to such trash. I have been a Scientologist for over 45 years, and have had many young children in a Scientology course room with me while I was both a student and a teacher, and I can assure you this is simply false information. Your sources are patently of bad faith and have their own evil purposes to promote.

It is inexcusable for your organization to forward such hatred and bigotry. It smacks of a serious lack of ethical awareness and casts doubt on the very mission and purpose of the Disney-ABC Television Group of “Inspiring kids, families and individuals to create the future they imagine.” One hardly supposes that this future envisioned by ABC is one of such hatred and bigotry.

You have made a serious ethical mistake, believing that people consider this kind of attack inspiring.

You should be thoroughly ashamed of this, and one expects you to cease and desist from such alarming anathema and cancel this show immediately.

Sincerely,
Moritz Farbstein
St. Louis, Mo.
