ANTI-RELIGIOUS PROPAGANDA
Just as bullies only pick on people whom it seems safe to bully, bigots only practice bigotry on minority groups—the ones it’s “safe” to hate. It doesn’t make being a bigot okay, but it does show what and who they really are.
SCIENTOLOGY RELIGION
I was born in the South. There’s a kind of running joke about how someone in the South can insult you so politely you’re not even upset about it (if you even notice at all).
SCIENTOLOGY RELIGION
This month, the world marks the 70th anniversary of the publication of Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, the landmark bestseller by L. Ron Hubbard.
SCIENTOLOGY RELIGION
Whenever someone claiming to be a former Scientologist writes something disparaging about our church, one telling thing pops into view that reveals they must have never gotten the memo: their own proclivity to blame.
SCIENTOLOGY RELIGION
In just about every society on earth, we humans are handed nothing but limits from the time we are born. The limits of popular opinion, culture, and thought along with authorities to appeal to, permissions to ask, expectations to meet.
COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE

A few miles away, the hippie movement was getting started in the hills above Palo Alto. Although I was oblivious to it in the first couple of years after the move, it became obvious as time went on:
COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
A violent, unstable and self-confessed liar and kleptomaniac, Lindstein joined the Scientology religious order thirty-some years ago and was expelled in 2004. Today she’s trying to “cash in” on the popularity of her former religion, hoping to sell what she admits is a completely fictional account as “truth.”
TOLERANCE
I was, however, “open-minded.” Cue the air quotes, please. There is a difference between open-minded and “open-minded.” When one is simply and honestly open-minded, it indicates a willingness to try new things, to hear other viewpoints, in short, to learn something new and be OK with that.
