Can you imagine launching into an article about a celebrity who stopped practicing Judaism with the same description of his or her former faith?

Dear Ms. Glisson,
In what world is it acceptable to start off an article with the slur that the name of a global religion “leaves a poor taste in some people’s mouths”?
In the small worlds of certain bigots, apparently.
Can you imagine launching into an article about a celebrity who stopped practicing Judaism with the same description of his or her former faith?
In your puff piece, you wheel out one tired rumor after another in an insipid attempt to disparage the religion an actor was once associated with.
As a Scientologist myself I take offense at your article, which uses the actor not to discuss his career, but primarily to smear one of the most positive organizations in the world with a lot of shabby, unsubstantiated piffle.
It’s an ugly, pointless piece that stands out starkly in a time when intolerance is out of fashion, and rightly so.
