Why Would Disney Support Leah Remini’s Hate Campaign?

My husband and I have been Scientologists for over 40 years. During this time we have raised three wonderful boys using Mr. Hubbard’s technology and we find it offensive that our children and grandchildren and children of other Scientologists should be targeted by your program.

Mr. Ben Sherwood
President
Disney-ABC Television Group
Burbank, CA 91505

Dear Sir:

This letter is actually directed to Disney–ABC Television Group. My husband and I just got back from the Disney Wonder cruise to Alaska with our children and grandchildren so you can imagine my shock at finding that Leah Remini's disgusting TV show has received an Emmy nomination.

My husband and I have been Scientologists for over 40 years. During this time we have raised three wonderful boys using Mr. Hubbard’s technology and we find it offensive that our children and grandchildren and children of other Scientologists should be targeted by your program.

Our children do not take drugs, smoke or have ever been in trouble with the law. We cannot say that this was the case for some of the non-Scientology children we knew.

We will have been happily married for 40 years on September 4th and can honestly say that might not have been the case without Scientology. Many times we talk about how glad we are that we found Scientology and were able to raise our children not only with a good education but with a good sense of ethics and morals.

Due to the fact that our children were educated on the effects of drugs on the body, mind, and spirit they had no interest in experimenting with them.

I coordinate with the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, using their educational materials, to help eradicate drugs on the planet. Scientologists have been conducting local anti-drug activities for over 35 years.

In fact, our children can think for themselves and have the integrity to stand up to and say what they believe. As an example, our oldest son had been accepted to the music department at UCLA after graduating high school. Before the start of the year, the enrolling students were invited to spend a weekend on campus. Part of the visit was that they take a psychological exam with questions on them such as, What would you want on your epitaph and who would you save on a sinking ship. Our son learned of these questions from his roommates, as he declined to take this exam. The students came back and were quite depressed after taking the exam. He asked them what happened and that is how he found out what type of test it had been. He pointed out some true facts to them and they brightened up right away. One of them even said our son must be a genius to know this stuff. No, it was not genius but Scientology.

Our other son received an Emmy at the age of 22 for sound editing. He had worked with James Cameron and Mr. Cameron told the studio owner that he preferred communicating with our son as he actually knew how to communicate and understood what he wanted done. This is also a product of raising him as a Scientologist, as we have a communication course where one learns all aspects of the communication cycle.

All three of our boys participate in training and spiritual betterment at our church. They love getting the knowledge that Scientology has available for everyone. Even though they started quite young, around 10 years old, they were only treated with respect and kindness.

They not only benefited from Scientology but continue to live their lives responsibly. They continue to make strides as they continue studying Scientology. We couldn’t be prouder of them.

All three of our boys are happily married and we are now the happy grandparents of 3 Scientologist grandchildren.

With these troubled and uncertain times we are all facing, the people doing this bigoted show should be out helping those in need, not persecuting people who are helping and trying to make a positive difference in our society. It is not a law that someone needs to be a Scientologist, but it is the law that everyone can practice their religion freely without fear of being harassed.

I am the child of Holocaust-surviving parents, both now deceased. We left Hungary after the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 due to persecution and Communism. My parents came to the United States with relief that we could finally practice our religion and not be condemned, ridiculed or killed.

I am sure that it would not be allowed if Remini was doing this against the Jewish, Christian or another faith. It is confusing to me that you would allow it in this case. Our entire family has been big Disney fans, passport holders, Aulani visitors (booked for my grandaughter’s 1st birthday), Orlando, movies, TV, and have always felt Disney to be family oriented with good values. This show is the exact opposite of what I believe Disney stands for. Please do not allow this anti-religious show to continue.

Sincerely
Edith Reuveni
