Preposterous accusations

In a society that has enough hate speech against people of different races, colors and creeds, it would be more than a shame for ABC to air a program that would contribute to mistreatment and/or vulgar comments to children of Scientologists.

Dear Mr. Goldston,

I am writing regarding 20/20 and the inappropriate and outright preposterous accusations against the Church of Scientology regarding children.

I have personal direct experience with Scientology and children who have received Scientology services as my two daughters both have done Scientology courses and other services.

Both of my daughters are producing members of society and survived their teenage years without any illegal drugs and without being sexually promiscuous, which is saying something in our current culture and society.

I feel that the services they received in Scientology in no small part contributed to their being ethical and above the norm in their rational thinking and in their actions as citizens in today’s world. Basically they are self-confident, competent, producing members of our society. If anything, the Church of Scientology should be thanked for the morals that they instill in our country and countries across our planet.

I believe if your show is aired in the way it has been proposed, it promotes hate and is actually bordering on a “hate crime” against Scientologists and the children of Scientologists who, by and large, are some of the most ethical and moral people I know.

In a society that has enough hate speech against people of different races, colors and creeds, it would be more than a shame for ABC to air a program that would contribute to mistreatment and/or vulgar comments to children of Scientologists.

If you would like to air something that would promote a more moral society—one of tolerance for all people—you could air The Way to Happiness book-on-film to provide a true picture of our moral viewpoints and how these viewpoints contribute to a safer more tolerant world. Please watch it for yourself at http://www.thewaytohappiness.org and experience it first hand.
