Dylan,

I read your story of April 19 which made reference to Rick Ross as an “authority” on the Scientology religion.

This is false. Rick Ross is an anti-religious hater. He was found guilty of the attempted deprogramming of an 18-year-old Pentecostal man in an attempt to lure him away from his chosen faith. The jury awarded the man $2.5 million in damages against Ross and his co-conspirators for the physical violence and other horrors they subjected him to.

Nancy Ammerman, a professor of sociology of religion, also implicated Ross in the mass deaths at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. His involvement with government agencies was the cause of much criticism. FBI interview notes state Ross, “has a personal hatred for all religious cults.”

That is Rick Ross.

And you quote him as some sort of authority on the subject of a religion?

Shame on you. That is like seeking a statement from Joseph Stalin about intellectuals, or getting a quote from Adolf Hitler about Jews.

Now is the time for tolerance, respect, understanding and, above all, love of others as the way we conduct ourselves.

When houses of worship and their congregants are under bloody attack, such as in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, your incitement to bitterness against a religion is inexcusable.

Now is the time for tolerance, respect, understanding and, above all, love of others as the way we conduct ourselves.

You too are a member of the human race. Please be mindful of the effect you may create in others about a subject you do not know or understand.

You will find here the true information about the Church’s stance with regard to anti-social personalities. You should use it and cite to it in the future.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Blair
