Would you honor these unbelievers for being religious in an otherwise materialistic world and respect their sincerely held beliefs? Or would you try to convince them to change their ways and accept the “right beliefs” out of concern for them and their ultimate fate?

“Love one another.” It’s an adage so common it can seem trite. So simple that it’s hard to believe it can matter. Bad things happen to good people. Sometimes those things are just natural disasters. Floods. Hurricanes. Wild fires.

Old lies die hard. A recent survey by the Anti-Defamation League revealed that 13 percent believe that “Jews are more likely to use shady practices to get what they want,” and 18 percent believe that “Jews have too much power in the business world.” 89 percent of citizens surveyed in Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan surveyed had a “very unfavorable opinion of Jews.”

We don’t take these things lightly anymore. We can’t. Not in a parade, not in Mardi Gras, and certainly not 20 minutes away from a memorial that stands in mute warning of where this sort of psychotic idiocy can lead—and where it did lead, not so very long ago.

It’s OK to be honestly irked. It’s OK to have a zero-tolerance policy for bigots and bozos. And you don’t need eloquence if you have impingement.

What happened to Disney? And when I say Disney, I am not referring to the man, Mr. Walt Disney for whom I have the utmost respect and admiration. I am referring to what his name brand has unfortunately become. When he was alive, Walt Disney stood for quality entertainment.

Pope Urban II set the tone for a millennium-long identification of Muslims as direct enemies of Western values, culture and morals. Western culture was good, pure, logical, virtuous, orderly. Islam was bad, polluted, senseless and violent.
