Unilever, It Is Now 2018, Well Past the Time For Discrimination

Georgia-Pacific has updated their media buying guidelines to exclude programs that feature content of this nature. I would suggest that you adopt a similar policy. The year is 2018, not 1818, and people are not as uninformed as it may appear.

Kees Kruythoff
Unilever PLC

Dear Sir,

In corporate circles it is the norm to put a great deal of effort into getting the company image cleanly presented to the public.

I myself have received instruction on avoiding discrimination in any form on the basis of age, religion, sexuality, race and other points. This is taught to employees on a regular basis as policy.

It is therefore incomprehensible to me that this is not the case with your corporation as well, given that you fund A&E programming that is overtly anti-religious and hateful toward my religion: specifically “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.”

Georgia-Pacific has updated their media buying guidelines to exclude programs that feature content of this nature. I would suggest that you adopt a similar policy.

The year is 2018, not 1818, and people are not as uninformed as it may appear. Such content paints a negative picture of those promoting the show by funding it.

On a personal note, I would not purchase products from a company that supports attacks against my religion, and I say so publicly to my friends.

Sincerely,

Stephen Forney
