After seven hours of a passionate but civil public dialogue, more than 170 Americans came together to decide the future of their community. They went for openness, inclusion and religious freedom, granting approval for a new mosque to be built in suburban Virginia.

STAND Calls Bombing of Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center ‘Deplorable’
STAND national director Bari Berger issued a statement of solidarity with the Interfaith Coalition and the mosque and encouraged all Minnesota Scientologists to help in any way possible. “This attack and any attack against any religion is deplorable and perpetrated by a godless individual. All religions standing together can overcome hate.”

Scientologists Taking Action Against Discrimination (STAND) expressed condolences to the Muslim community in Canada and elsewhere following Sunday’s horrific shooting in a Quebec City mosque that killed six while leaving five in critical condition.
