You will be the undeserving subject of ridicule someday. It will feel unfair. You will wonder why anyone could get away with lying about you. Then perhaps you will recognize that, as a news source, you’ve done the same thing to others.
Before you print drivel like this you should check your facts and sources. You might even want to consider finding something true to write about that will help people rather than picking fake stories and running them to the end of hate and harm.
A family is grieving so you choose an antireligious campaigner as a “source” on this family and their beliefs. Your piece is a non-sequitur of the basest order. The words “obscene” and “repugnant” also come to mind.
Suppose an “Expose the Media” blog said that an unnamed source said that a person whose father was a journalist said that journalists are abusive, neglectful parents and that their kids are usually messed up.
In what world is it acceptable behavior to slander an entire religion, based on dubious hearsay, in the hours immediately following a horrific family tragedy?
