NY Post, I’m Appalled

In what world is it acceptable behavior to slander an entire religion, based on dubious hearsay, in the hours immediately following a horrific family tragedy?

Dear Mr. Lynch,

I write in regards to your article of July 13, 2020.

In what world is it acceptable behavior to slander an entire religion, based on dubious hearsay, in the hours immediately following a horrific family tragedy?

In whose mind is it a proper use of one’s editorial power to rush to forward hate speech while a mother mourns her child?

In what universe is it appropriate to permit the shrill voice of intolerance and savagery to ring out widely, whose mission is patently only one of destruction toward a religious group?

The answer? None of the above.

It’s appalling that the New York Post can be so callous, unfeeling and downright cruel to lend their platform to a bigot to smear an entire religious community and thereby contribute more reasons to mourn than already called for by this tragic loss of life.

By your actions you reveal yourselves. Shame on you for the despicable company you keep.

Sincerely,

Jim Meskimen
